After an amazingly successful start in 2018 we had a brief hiatus on our winter carnival in 2019. In 2020, it happily returned! In conjunction with the women’s 4×4 tournament and the frostbite river run WinterFest took place on January 25 and 26th. Saturday, we had crafts and big games in the hall throughout the day ending off with a movie night and first ever family skate. Sunday saw a spirited snow soccer game and a great afternoon of family skiing.

The highlight of the weekend was the inaugural Jackrabbit Hockey exhibition. RVCC’s Jackrabbits Hockey program hosted Robert A. Steen’s program in a friendly afternoon match. All the kids had a great time and it will be the start of a tradition!

Thank you to the WinterFest sponsor Medicine Shoppe for making this event possible.

Ladies Shine

As part of our WinterFest festivities local ladies took to the ice on Saturday, January 25th to battle for the glory of the Women’s 4×4 Tournament Champion title! We had gorgeous weather for the sold out event with 6 teams participating. Two of the teams were made up of Riverview residents that are mostly participants in our Greyhares program.

It was a full day of excitement as the ladies faced off in a double elimination tournament that saw the Ice Moms slide to victory for the second year in a row! However, a great time was had by all, win or lose, thanks to our dedicated volunteers and their ability to secure some awesome prizes. We’d like to thank our presenting sponsor Knight Archer Insurance and their support of our Women’s Tournament.
