Many of you have reached out with questions about the rinks so here is what we know as of Tuesday, December 15.
• Last week, the province announced that outdoor rinks may open so long as other public health guidelines are being followed – namely maintain social distancing and outdoor gathering sizes are limited to 5.
• The actual community centre itself is not permitted to open to the public yet.
• The province did not provide further details on how these public health guidelines are to be followed in the context of using outdoor ice.
• There are also no details on whether or not the community centre is liable if users are not following public health orders.
So with that said, the rinks at the RVCC remain closed for now. We have been flooding in preparation for opening but we ask for your patience as we wait for more direction from the province.
