Happy Friday! Here is the latest update on our outdoor rinks as of Friday, December 18th. Last week, the province announced that outdoor rinks may open so long as other public health orders are being followed. These orders are:
• Social distancing is in effect for any skaters who do not live in the same household
• Individual group sizes are limited to 5 and can only be exceeded if all members of the group live in the same household.
• If the group includes non-household members, social distancing must be practiced.
• No team practices, games, competitions, or otherwise organized activities.
Please Note: The outdoor rinks are skate at your own risk. Anyone who is not following public health orders may be fined. The Riverview Community Centre is NOT liable for skaters who are not following public health orders.
Also, the actual community centre itself is not permitted to open to the public yet. We will move some benches outside for skate changing. Again, please practise social distancing when changing your skates (unless you live in the same household).
So with that said, the rinks at the RVCC are just about ready to skate! Please respect other skaters and share the ice. Please also respect our icemakers, volunteers and staff. We will post another update next week with more information about operating hours.
Have fun!
