The Riverview Community Centre garage sales will be returning Saturday, May 28th, from 9 am to 3 pm.

Final day for donations is Wednesday the 25th.

With a difficult winter behind us, we are all looking forward to warm-weather activities. In the process of spring cleaning your home, please keep in mind the upcoming Riverview Garage Sales when you come across usable items in working order that you no longer want. This could be an opportunity to create more space and less clutter in your home, as well as a great way to support our popular Riverview Community Centre (RVCC).

Riverview Community Centre garage sale 2021

There are 4 ways you can help:

1. Hold a yard or garage sale at your own home on May 28th, and donate 10% of sales to RVCC. We will provide you with a lawn sign and balloons, and do extensive multi-media advertising to bring shoppers to our neighbourhood.

2. Donate saleable goods to RVCC and they will be sold there on May 28th (all proceeds to RVCC). You may drop off sale goods at the community centre to the main floor storage room(back hall change room) on weekdays from 10 am to 5 pm, and on weekends from 10 am to 4 pm, or after hours behind the bicycle rack near the front doors.

Sorry, but we cannot accept the following items as these items do not sell at garage sales:

magazines, encyclopedias or textbooks
TVs, computers, or printers
tires
child car seats
stuffed animals
mattresses or sofas
• golf clubs or skis
large appliances
broken or musty items

• We are also not accepting clothing, boots or shoes at this time.

3. Volunteer to assist at the RVCC sale on May 28 and/or during Thursday or Friday. the week prior, for a few hours of pricing, display, setting up or carrying boxes. (Face masks must be worn.) We also require the assistance of several people at the end of the sale at 3 p.m. on May 28 to pack up the unsold goods and clean up.

4. Visit your neighbourhood sales on May 28 for fabulous bargains not available at any shopping mall. (Face masks must be worn.) We had a very successful sale last year, and this year promises to be the same. Come see for yourself why Winnipeg is known as “The Garage Sale Capital of Canada!”

Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 28th and please plan to participate in this pan-community event. Shopping at this event supports our community, and we ask that you also protect our community by wearing a mask at the event. For info or to volunteer, contact the Garage Sale Coordinators:
